Chipperfield Kantine

Lunch, coffee and cake in Berlin-Mitte

The Chipperfield Kantine, located on the campus of David Chipperfield Architects in the heart of Berlins most vibrant district, is a place where good food and creative minds come together. Here, one can enjoy our popular lunch menu, quality coffee, or a slice of homemade cake while unwinding among architects and designers. Every detail, from the architecture itself to the interior design—even the tableware and cutlery—has been thoughtfully designed by David Chipperfield and his team.

Set in a exposed concrete building— or, on warmer days, under the shade of the plane trees in our courtyard— we offer a fresh and modern take on vegetable-based dishes, soups, and salads, all made from high-quality, organic, and locally sourced ingredients. We care deeply about the origins of our produce and the way it’s prepared. Sustainability is at the heart of what we do, with a commitment to using resources mindfully and minimising waste.

Our menu changes daily, offering a diverse and healthy selection, with a meat dish available on Wednesdays and a fish option on Fridays.

Outside of lunch hours, the quiet upper floor and garden in the courtyard provide an ideal setting for small meetings or remote work, best enjoyed with a coffee and a croissant or a homemade cake.
