Lunch, coffee and cake in Berlin-Mitte

The Chipperfield Kantine, located on the David Chipperfield Architects Berlin campus, offers staff and guests its popular lunch menu as well as a selection of coffee and a cakes. You can take a little time out among architects here in the middle of Berlin’s liveliest district, while enjoying mustard eggs with mashed potatoes, vegetarian chili or cake and fresh seasonal fruit.

We serve exquisite vegetarian cuisine made from fresh organic produce in the specially designed exposed concrete building or during the summer months in the shade of our plane trees in the courtyard. Our menu that changes daily includes good, healthy food made from the best regional ingredients: a vegetarian dish, a soup and salad.

Outside of lunch hours, our quiet upper floor or the garden outside, both equipped with secure and fast WLAN, provide a great space to work or for smaller meetings.

About us

Located between Auguststraße, Rosenthaler Straße and Torstraße, not only the staff of David Chipperfield Architects are welcome at the Chipperfield Kantine, but also everyone who lives or works nearby, or everyone who drops in both intentionally or by chance.

It is important to us where products come from and how they are made. This applies to both the architecture of the Kantine as well as the food we serve. In designing architecture as well as in cooking, we aim to use resources with respect and not waste anything. We invite people into and open our campus to guests with great enthusiasm. Anyone who eats here should feel part of the community and can also look over our shoulder during a conversation while we prepare the dishes in the open kitchen.

Inside, the reduced design of the cubic building is characterized by exposed concrete, wood and marble. Not only was the building designed by the practice, but its interior, furniture, tableware and cutlery are also designed by David Chipperfield and his team.

Rent location

You can rent the Chipperfield Kantine for your private or corporate event, reception or dinner. It offers space for around 60 guests.
